Brokkr, to news in U.S. cities consider banning "right on red" laws amid rise in pedestrian deaths

You didn’t understand anything I said.

Brokkr, to news in U.S. cities consider banning "right on red" laws amid rise in pedestrian deaths

I read the full section, which is about right of way. It is consist with my prior statement. The summary you provided is the one that states that drivers have the right of way on red lights under certain conditions.

I’m in favor of prioritizing safety, but if right on red is permitted, then it’s not optional. Just like going on green is not optional. Once you determine that you have the right of way you are expected to take it. This makes you predictable and safe.

Other drivers should be giving you a reasonable amount of time to determine your right of way though. You are also supposed to come to a full stop which should technically take about 3 seconds.

Brokkr, to news in Mint, One of the First Budgeting Apps, Is Shutting Down

I switched to personal capital years ago because of the better UI compared to mint. Linking to other accounts also seemed to work better. Empower bought them a few years ago, but hasn’t enshittified the site much yet. I would still recommend trying it. The service is free, but they will try to bug you from time to time to change your investments.

Brokkr, to news in Nurse charged with killing patients with insulin now facing 19 additional charges

That’s a really fucked up story, but that site is awful! Forced redirects and constant reloading.

Brokkr, to games in The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion

We all are. Looks like there will be a 1.6 update with some new content. I never explored the additional 1.5 content, but it seemed like a good bit.

For farming, I’ll assume you’ve tried Stardew, but if not that’s the obvious answer.

There’s a new one out called Vexland which might interest you. I haven’t tried it.

Brokkr, to movies in Rogue ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Intermissions at Movie Theaters Spur Studio to Intervene

Honestly, I’m not sure why all movies over 2 hours don’t have them, inserted by the theater so that they can sell more popcorn and candy.

Brokkr, to games in Sony Defends PS Plus Price Rises - IGN

The exclusives were how I used to justify a PS, but now that they are coming to PC after a year it makes that decision harder to justify. Particularly because they usually look better on PC and mods can be used, so as long as I can stand to wait I usually have a better experience on PC.

I’m not sure I’d buy another console.

Brokkr, to news in NHL bans players from using rainbow-colored tape on hockey sticks

That would be a different game. The goalie is a big part of the game currently.

I agree about the fighting though, no need for it.

Brokkr, to android in Google launches Android 14, rolling out today to Pixel

You could always use a different launcher to do this. I like Nova Launcher, but there are lots of good options.

Brokkr, to games in Are there any reputable independent gaming sites left?

I’m not sure about sites, but many of the old GB people have independent podcasts and streams. Check out Nextlander or The Jeff Gerstmann show. Some of their stuff goes up on YouTube as well.

YouTube is also a good place to find reviews, if you can find a few people who generally like the same stuff you do.

Brokkr, to askscience in How could SI units be derived from scratch without the use of modern technology?

Sure, in that scenario, such a system would be possible. Hopefully, there is still an earth to communicate with however. So we’d have to keep using earth days and years to enable effective communication. Also, the entire ship would have been built using earth based units, so it might be easier to use the system we’ve already got.

Brokkr, to askscience in How could SI units be derived from scratch without the use of modern technology?

I’m personally not voting on your comments, but you are probably being down voted because you are either being purposefully ignorant or you are continuing to insist on a “better system” that is physically impossible.
