Thanks for the warning. I haven’t played it yet, and it’s on my list.

I honestly don’t care if they do or don’t add this stuff, but please make it skippable. The last thing I want is some boring corporate-approved formulaic bland sex scene that I have to suffer through in the middle of an interactive game. At least movies and shows let me 30-second skip past that stuff. All of them are exactly the same sequence. It’s tedious.

As for flirtation being more important to in-game social interactions and dialog trees that could be fun. It could also set young people up for trouble. They’d be practicing the “wrong habits” that will get charges filed against them IRL.

The reason game designers are afraid of sex is because most of Western society is. Can games help turn that around? I don’t know, but probably not. The USA is super puritanical about all things sex (but blood, gore, and violence are generally OK).

Boozilla, to homeimprovement in Can I caulk around this window trim?
@Boozilla@lemmy.world avatar

I’d try clear silicone. Very easy to work with, won’t stain, and pretty easy to peel off if you need to. Won’t hurt, will probably help.

I have a dark sense of humor but I love this. It’s wholesome and funny, which is hard to pull off. The guy being annoyed throughout the whole thing landed it for me.

Boozilla, to nostupidquestions in Can a gun break glass with just sounds alone?
@Boozilla@lemmy.world avatar

This is a good question and it certainly has me stumped.

ChatGPT says it’s possible and that it’s “not uncommon” for this to happen. It calls the phenomenon “acoustic or sonic glass breakage.”

Yet, Myth Busters disproved it in one of their episodes.

If I had to wager on it, I’d place my money on the Myth Busters having the correct answer and not ChatGPT, however.

Yeah, I just kamikaze’d.

Exactly. Zuckerberg is a POS. Folks are only talking about this because X/Twitter is such a dumpster fire, not because Threads is good.

I try to work on my apathy but working on it means I’ve failed to be apathetic about my apathy. It’s the muscle that only grows when you use it without thinking about using it. It’s worse than Kegels.

Boozilla, to asklemmy in Do the right wing women in relationships with right wing guys think it's like a draco malfoy thing where they're a good guy underneath?
@Boozilla@lemmy.world avatar

This has been my experience with my own family, neighbors, coworkers, etc. They think of themselves as the good guys “standing firm” against the hoards of those “scary other people” who want to take their guns, raise their taxes, and wage war on Christmas. Even though what those “other people” really want is affordable healthcare, education, and housing.

Boozilla, to news in Remote employees ‘don’t work as hard’, says head of world’s biggest commercial landlord
@Boozilla@lemmy.world avatar

Let’s assume for the sake of argument he’s correct. So fucking what? Wealth concentration is wage theft. Profits are at historic highs. They owe it to the workers to put down the fucking whip. It’s better for the environment. Every worker who wants to telecommute (in jobs where it’s possible) should be allowed to do so. It’s unethical not to. It should be made illegal, IMO.

Boozilla, to nostupidquestions in [What if scenario] What if all commercial institutions suddenly decided they no longer intend to acknowledge religious events such as Christmas?
@Boozilla@lemmy.world avatar

I would love to leave Christmas behind, but it is a huge percentage the stupid consumer-driven economy in the USA. I think it would upset the apple cart and put a lot of folks out of work for a while. I suppose things would stabilize and recover (unless riots and worse happened).

Christmas becoming a BFD was a gradual thing. It’s one reason I don’t care for Dickens. I don’t blame him for all of it, but he certainly helped make it “mandatory fun” with his preachy novella. It’s ironic, because he was moralizing against greed and now Christmas is all about greed.

Boozilla, to memes in I always have both too many and not enough friends smh
@Boozilla@lemmy.world avatar

Yup. I have friends at work. We don’t really hang out after work or anything. Some of us do regularly text each other outside of work. Mostly jokes and memes, though sometimes other topics.

While I don’t look at my job as a social outlet or meet up place, I do think it’s good to be sociable and friendly at work. Of course there are a few snake-in-the-grass types at work that I maintain distance from. Professional detachment type of thing.

Boozilla, to memes in I always have both too many and not enough friends smh
@Boozilla@lemmy.world avatar

I have a dozen friends or so that I keep in regular contact with (to varying degrees). That’s plenty for me. I’m open to new friends but I am not an active “friend collector” like some people seem to be. Some super extroverted people I know seem to use it to keep score or something. I tend to drift away from that type of person, and then hope they take the hint. My least favorite are the ones you haven’t heard from in years and then they text you out of the blue wanting to reconnect. I don’t ghost them, but I do duck out of it. They’re just bored and being a pest.
