I had made one for lemmy.world and lemmy.ml, not really knowing what I was doing just checking out the different sites. Is there a point in having multiple accounts or can I just access everything with one account?
In general no, you can see everything from one account. The reasons for having multiple accounts are approximately the same as for Reddit, such as having a NSFW account separate from your regular account. The only additional concern with Lemmy is that some instances defederate from each other. Unless your account is on the instance that's defederated though, it won't affect you.
I was thinking about this recently… By going to a federated system, one that essentially copies all of your content from one instance to another, when you delete a comment, does that comment get deleted on every instance? Is that even possible?
If you’re talking to the public, nothing you say is private. That includes federated systems like Mastodon and Lemmy. If you want privacy and federation, using an encrypted Matrix chat. There’s still of course the caveat that the people you’re talking with can leak your chats, since they have a copy of them, so don’t talk to glowies.

Tell me if I’m wrong, but federated systems don’t seem to be the best for privacy because you can’t ever delete all of the copies of your posts and comments?
