My best guess is that the almost two years of can kicking this conclusion was enough for most larger investors to reposition so the bag holders are now, once again, regular people.

Just clarifying what you meant. I thought I missed something. DLC to my mind is like... an extra race or somthing a bit more relevant than purely cosmetic stuff. Not going to argue semantics here, fair enough to call that a micro transaction and it's certainly DLC.
Because that's literally their whole job. Their justification for testing something on hardware it wasn't intended for is that they (LTT) didn't want to spend the money on their end required to do their job properly.
It's not about the product in question. It's about their clearly inadequate processes and considerations, prioritizing profits over accuracy. Kinda terrible for a company trying to break into the whole accuracy market with their testing and data.
Can relate. Had to more or less force myself. But it did click around season 2 or 3 to the point where I think it's one of the very best space operas that has ever been made and most likely ever will be made.
The conspiracy nut in me says that they hope it will be easier to control, especially inflation and deflation. Maybe even have an raiser time tracking people and sanctioning them as needed. Maybe they think it will be easier to clamp down on stuff like money laundering and tax evasion.
