Shit, I just need to share this with anyone who hasn’t seen or heard it. The band sounds great, but the highlight is McCready putting everything he has into a solo he’s played 1000 times over the last 30+ years. Fantastic.
Sadly relegated to “one hit wonder” status thanks to the success of the single “Banditos” (give your ID card to the border guard, now your alias says you’re Captain Jean-Luc Picard), I always thought this followup was the better song. One of my favorites on an album loaded with great songs.
At this point, Elliott Smith had already released two solo albums and was a year away from a whole lot of people knowing his music thanks to Good Will Hunting....
