To use or not tu use the term "#megafire"? 🔥

After Linley et al. (2022) suggested a standardized definition (> 10,000 ha extent) to reduce ambiguity, a new perspective by Stoof et al. (2023) recommends not using the term at all in science:

I'm a fan of clear definitions and standardization of #terminology, but at the same point, also wondering if we really need a special term for fires of a certain extent?

serlwch, to linguistics

has many cases. Two of them are:

• The elative case (elatiivi), denoting ‘internal location + from’; e.g. talosta ‘out of a house’.
• The illative case (illatiivi), denoting ‘internal location + to’; e.g. taloon ‘into a house’.

Now, let me understand something (and correct me if I’m wrong)… Even though they mean basically the opposite of each other, their names are pronounced the same in English (/ɪˈleɪtɪv/) 🙃

I am not a purist. - It's Linux, and it is my favorite operating system. 😜
