-I think the show is doing a great job with a tough ask of following up #StarWars “Rebels” plot points while telling its own story. The time skip did a lot here. For instance the primary conflict being between Sabine and Ahsoka when those two hardly interacted in “Rebels” grounds this new show in its own context.
-Hera is still Space Mom and Sabine is still God’s gift to coolness.
-the idea of mercenary ex-Jedi is SO compelling that it’s an instant hook for me.
@monsterlynn@Anguirus Yeah he'd be a late teen or something like that... Hmm or probably actually 20 something cause Rebels season 4 is still before A New Hope
I'm enjoying reading people gush over #Ahsoka and pointing out things I missed but I'm so irritated with people who want to gatekeep.
"People who like #Andor are going to hate this because there's Force stuff & lightsabres in it."
No, that's not how that works. We can like both. We aren't the ones who deemed Andor "not #StarWars " because of the lack of those elements. We just enjoyed seeing the rest of the world who don't have those talents.
@cstephens2 Exactly! I loved Andor. It in some ways felt more Star Wars than a lot of things Disney has put out lately, but Rebels is my favorite Star Wars anything and Ahsoka is my favorite character. Star Wars is a big Galaxy, it can contain multitudes.
@SailorDisco Yep. I love the gritty seriousness and intrigues of Andor, but I also love the optimistic idealism and Jedi mysticism of Rebels. Star Wars has an an almost limitless capacity for all kinds of worldbuilding and storytelling. Sometimes the stories are quality, sometimes not so much, but imo good is good and both shows are. It took me a re-watch to get a good feel of where Asoka is heading in terms of tone and style but so far I'm I'm enjoying it.
"Life experience has taught you some valuable lessons. With your wisdom, you have also gained keener insight into the nuances of diplomacy and life itself."
Just remembering Tatooine originally in A New Hope was portrayed as a distant planet, far from the center of the galaxy. But these days seems like we can't escape it and everyone & their mother visits often.
Outside of Ep I-VI, in the Disney era we have
The Mandalorian going/on there in all 3 seasons
Obi-Wan Kenobi (partially)
Book Of Boba Fett there entirely
Upcoming Outlaws game will be one of the main openworlds
@rm4 Tatooine is a shortcut planet to say, "Hey, we're in classic Star Wars." It's like Lord of the Rings going to Hobbiton and/or to see Hobbits. Harry Potter going to Hogwarts. Marvel going anywhere Nick Fury is hanging out. When will it stop? Probably once every irrational OT fanatic has died off and/or loses a position of power. So, by 2076?
@anniegreens We just watched a couple more episodes tonight and found ourselves laughing. Also, enjoying there being a lot more action and storytelling. So much more fun.
