Time to get to know one another,

Introduce yourself in the replies, your research, collaborations you're looking for or would be open to, and what you enjoy about the non-professional side of scientists on social media! @academicchatter

@ml @academicchatter I am a Postdoc in Palaeobotany working on macroevolution, ecophysiology, and phylogeny of plants, particularly gymnosperms. I am also interested in plant paleoart and how to better communicate the importance of plants to the general public. I am always open to collaborations and connections across disciplines. I also enjoy history, languages, boardgames, wine and cooking.

@ml @academicchatter I’m Stephanie, a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in physics. 👩🏻‍🎓 I have a focused interest in particle accelerators, so I’d love to work with those. Sometimes I feel like I should have gone for an engineering degree instead 😅

Definitely in the market for a job. I’m very technically minded and love learning about machines. I’ve done internships at BNL and SLAC, and have visited the Canadian Light Source a few times (I love it there!)

I’ve created a new list for the Life Sciences. It allows you to see the hashtags followed by scientists in each of the disciplines

I’m not sure how useful it will be, but you can quickly discover who’s posting to hashtags that are of interest each of the Life Sciences

Disciplines covered are arranged according to the following:

• Animal Behaviour • Astrobiology • Behaviour Science • Biochemistry • Bioinformatics • Biology • Biomaterial Science • Biomedical Science • Botany • Cell Biology • Developmental Biology • Ecology • Entomology • Genetics • Immunology • Marine Science • Microbiology • Molecular Biology • Mycology • Ornithology • Virology • Zoology
