It’s a linocut of one of my favourite mythological creatures: the Zaratan, here in my print a giant sea turtle disguised as an island. There’s a small campfire on the supposed beach, and a sailing ship from the age of exploration nearby.

So there's this Greek myth that says Zeus was fed by bees when he was born. In gratitude, he blessed them with the color of "shining bronze", and made them immune to cold and harsh winds. These bees lived in Zeus' sacred cave in Crete, and aggressively chased away anyone who tried to steal their honey.
Any #apiarist or #entomology expert out there who could tell me what these bees are by any chance?...

She was secretly the Norse goddess Gefjon, and her four oxen dragged away enough land to create the island of Zealand. The Egyptian god Set being called the "red-headed god" marked him as an outsider. It linked him to the red desert sands rather than the fertile black soil where most Egyptians lived.
