Started another pair of #socks In case you’re wondering, I joined a sock #yarn of the month club this year. Now that we’re ending the year, I thought it was time to start #knitting 🤣🤣
I completed the body of my DaleGarn Nagano 1998 ski team sweater (jumper if you're English). Frankly one of the most enjoyable knits I've done in quite some time.
Oh dear!
Hello, my name is Suzy, and I'm addicted to buying yarn, patterns, and knitting 😂
I think I should get help. After telling myself I would work on my knitting WIPs instead I knitted a pair of scrappy socks.
Okay - thought this time I mean it, no more buying yarn or patterns. So the weekend I bought 2 more patterns and the yarn for them.
That's it! No more!
Still deciding whether to do the Westknits MKAL - I've bought the pattern & now trying to select, if I do it, what yarn to use.
Went through my stash and have 5 skeins that I think work together. Big decision to choose which 4...lol
This is a sweater I thrifted last year - 55% silk, 45% cashmere, and only $5!
I've never worn it, since it doesn't fit and "butter yellow" isn't my color. The plan is to rescue the yarn, dye it a better color, and knit something I'll actually wear.
I'll tag progress posts with #ReduceReuseReknit for those who'd like to follow along, or join in with their own recycled yarn projects.
I was too ashamed to post about this during #FallFinishAlong (especially when I was supposed to be finishing my other sweater), buuuuut I cast on a new project a few weeks ago 🙊
I've found I really enjoy color work!
Pattern is Cotton Grass Jumper by The Petite Knitter. Yarn is Berroco Ultra Alpaca in Lichen and Peat Moss.
Had a rummage in my stash and was surprised to find a number of yarns I can use for the Mitred Blanket.
Think I'll sort out then start with the lightest. Probably buy a couple of mini skeins in shades I'm missing. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knitted-patchwork-recipe
Saw this on Instagram and had to track down the pattern. I really love the colours used in this sample.
Think it would be a perfect way to use up all those left-over yarn from old projects.
Anyone doing this year's Westknits MKAL?
Been trying to decide whether to join or not. Been checking out my favourite dyers. Overwhelmed by all the wonderful gradient sets they've done for the MKAL - can't pick a favourite set.
Picked up a WIP shawl (had a rolled edge similar to Icord). Started knitting and realised I couldn't remember how I'd done the rolled edge. Fiddled for hours, searched the internet, but couldn't replicate it....argh! Pulled it all undone...boohoo. Put the yarn aside for another day.
Began something else...a new shawl. Completed the first 130 rows. Start of the first lace section.
As I'm finishing off a #knitting project, I'm already on the next.
I looked at this beauty (the jumper, not the man (though he is yummy too)) from Bergere de France.
But they have a problem on their site with pdf downloads and I couldn't get it. So I emailed them to find out how I could buy it, and they sent it to me for free!!! It has actually improved my generally low opinion our current age, that a big company would do such a generous thing.
After knitting 6 shawls and 2 scarves in a row I'm now knitting a pair of socks for a break before more shawls...lol
Hand-dyed yarns knitted in basketweave and stocking stitch.
