Ordered an Onyx Boox Palma handheld #ereader although I’m not 100% sure about it. Love the high refresh rate and the fact that it runs #Android. That opens up a ton of useful possibilities on the 6.1” screen.
However, I’d be switching from a larger 10” E-Ink device. It too runs Android but it’s woefully underpowered. So much so that using it for anything but reading apps is painful. The Palma config is more like a mid-range phone, just without the cellular bits.
A major disadvantage to reading several print books in a row from your TBR shelf is that when it’s time to read your next ebook, the #Kobo#eReader is nowhere to be found and impossible to locate 😳🙄🤬 @bookstodon
A few years ago, I got rid of all my paper books and switched exclusively to eBooks. Whenever I tell bibliophiles1 this, they usually shriek in horror. What about the smell of books2?!!? What about showing off your bookcases to impress people3!?!? What about your signed first editions4!??!?! But the other day I had someone…
When you need to understand and retain important #information that you have #read, do you use an #electronic#book or a traditional paper #book for the purpose?
I remember this article from 2013 and it was bad back then. It goes back and forth between #EInk and regular screens as if these are related. They are not.
We all know that computer screens make for an awful reading experience. Before I got an #EReader I read a single book an a screen. I rarely read paperbooks today.
I got a decade of highlights from my ebooks available and yesterday my reading app told me I've 30 hrs left on my current book series.
