In Gunhawk, you will sometimes be able to hack enemy comms to view a dialogue and potentially unlock an extra upgrade for your mech.

Dialog box gives player the option to hack enemy comms. Doing so displays an enemy conversation and unlocks an extra upgrade for the player's mech.

I'm sure you are familiar with this situation: you're shopping on a Saturday, and your shopping list is written on the back of an old paper copy of a once read article. My list today is on the back of Clyve Jones‘ „The Protestant Wind of 1688“. Fun fact: this copy was made around 2005 in Berlin, and moved with me through my career from Berlin to Erfurt to Nuremberg to Augsburg. I am living my best life, dear @histodons

Have you ever actually beaten ?

If so (or even if not 🤷‍♂️), recently catalogued this rare novel.

It was published by Konami back in 1988, and follows an original story with characters Bill and Lance.

Don’t mind me, just out here buying Home Depot buckets full of games.

Update: Here's the full list of what I got. I paid $200 for the lot, and in my stupidity I originally priced it out at $2 a game (instead of the actual $4). But still not an awful deal?

My first time playing River City Ransom on the NES tonight and what a game! A two button and two player beat-down, the attacks, split paths and RPG elements really add to the enjoyment. The weapons are pretty varied too.

It was released in 1989 by Technos who had popularised the scrolling beat-em-up genre (AKA fight n' go right) with both 1986's Renegade and their 1987 arcade smash, Double Dragon.

It is regarded as an NES classic and has been on my list of games to play on the MISTer. Having spent a good hour with it, I can confirm it's going straight to my favourites list.

8.5/10

Using a knuckle-duster, the player is bashing the hell out of two bad guys. The fight is taking place in some kind of warehouse. Text at the bottom of the screen reads "Vinny: "That's not fair!""
The opening level. A sign stating "Cross Town High School" is on the wall. The player character in blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a very nice haircut enters from the left, bad guys immediately charge towards the player.
As part of the RPG element, the player, whose name is Alex, can visit various stores and services along the way. In this picture, Alex is drying himself off after a shower. Titillatingly, his pixellated bum is visible. The text reads, "Pop's Health Club" and "Alex was very upright and the sauna was so relaxing."
