Giant Swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes) visiting our giant zinnia yesterday morning.

The Purple Coneflower, Echinacea or E.Purpurea is a native wildflower and also a very showy addition to the summer and fall gardens, the butterflies love it. I love the spines of the bloom as they remind me of a hedgehog.

It hasn't been a great year for dragonflies for some reason, so I was happy to see this female vagrant darter (Sympetrum vulgatum) this morning, perched on one of the bamboo sticks I have out in the garden for them 🐲🪰

Unlike some of their cousins, they love to pose for the camera 📷🙂👍
