I am incredibly excited to say that my debut novel released today on Amazon KU/ebook/paperback: http://quill-still.sofaer.net/mast . It's a queer, cozy slice-of-life portal fantasy story about civics, divinity from a Jewish lens, chemistry/alchemy, and more civics.
Join Sophie Nadash, burned-out 39-year-old chemist, as a run-in with the goddess Artemis while hiking in the Greek woods and finds herself sent to a new, kinder world.
Hi, I'm an as-of-yet unpublished YA author and high school math teacher who just joined Mastodon. I'm looking out for suggestions of who to follow in the writing/teaching community!
@weirdwriter I'm already following you! I'm very interested in accessibility. It's crazy that people don't always get it right for something as simple as ebooks.
If you're looking for a deeply philosophical novella about love, loss, and Daoism, check out The Joy of Fishes. Mara Daniels wanders around Chicago over one day and talks to the ghost of her fiancé, Benjamin Zhu.
Welcome to the inaugural #FediBookFair. #authors and #publishers are invited to post about their #books, offer signed copies, etc, using the #FediBookFair hashtag.
#Readers can watch or follow the hashtag to find books to buy, and interesting authors to follow.
Still - as highlighted at the end of the article - the service will be terminated by November 1 for the legacy format *mobi. And I bet quite a few of us still have *mobi files on our drives or somewhere else.
Yes, yes - I know you can manually transfer files via cable. (Or by converting *mobi to *epub via 3rd party software.) Still, I think terminating this service is a bad business decision re: legacy users.
@AuthorHelp@authorindiespeak@writingcommunity this is interesting, because in my experience, "review bombing" has been used by authors to co-ordinate a wave of positive reviews in the first week of publication on a platform, so they can claim that they are a "best-selling" author. That and very targeted endorsements.
But as the article states, negative review bombing certainly happens too. As well as the highly-publicised cases, I've seen authors claim that they've been the target of negative review campaigns.
Poor people probably didn't get a lot of stories published. That's why they don't start: "I was sentenced to three months in the insane asylum for being poor." 🤔
Spending the morning working on some art for the #Ladies2_0 book, and then on to writing for something really special I will be sharing later today...stay tuned!!
