@AlgoCompSynth@composeroftheday I really love his duets with Al Cohn, and both of them are on Tenor Conclave with Trane and Hank Mobley. Love that album!
@mystixa@composeroftheday There are enough living composers / songwriters on Wikipedia's notability list that also have their own web presence that I could just stop choosing historical composers. That doesn't help the indies who fall below Wikipedia's notability threshold, but my primary method of discovering them is #BandcampFriday.
@AlgoCompSynth@composeroftheday Oh Yea, .. its not just 'indies' that would be missed however. There are lots ... but you'll just be reviewing those who have enough of a promotional budget so that they've already been covered in publications like the NYT and the like.
@AlgoCompSynth@composeroftheday@womencomposers Checking her out now, and reading about her work. Fanfare for the Common Woman , as described, sounds interesting. Checking that out now!
@AlgoCompSynth@composeroftheday love his work! I've seen him in concert, years ago. He played various instruments live, including a Theremin. He said: "I'm going to try to deal with it."...
