Yep, that’s exactly the target audience for this. I’m doing the first live test of this on !wwdits - in about 4 hours and 15 minutes a new pinned post should appear and the old pinned post should be unpinned. Hopefully it works because I’ll be sleeping at that time.
I’m fairly certain that’s not true. If you subscribe to something, you won’t get comments or upvotes, but you’ll typically get posts. I can see that I’m literally the only subscriber on this instance to many communities, and I can see all the previous posts.
Moreover, for many of my subscriptions it’s the other way around. I subscribed to everything on 2023-08-04 (i.e. the 4th of August) - I can usually see the posts up to that point, but nothing after.
I’m seeing now though all those Communities have their subscription set to ‘Pending’, so maybe that’s the issue. But I don’t know how to move it past that point (I don’t think it ever changes by itself).
I think most all of us here on Lemmy are people with technical background. Most of my professional contacts remained using Reddit, Twitter and even excited when Threads launched....
I know enough code to say that I thoroughly dislike PHP and Javascript
Then you don’t know enough code.
And making a new account for each instance?
That’s not necessary, you can join any community on any instance, for example one on my instance, !wwdits - you might notice it’s on the lemmings.world instance and even though you’re on lemmy.world, you should be able to click the link and see the posts / subscribe / write comments / posts.
I still have this imposter syndrome-like feeling that I’m not supposed to be here
If you like it here, it’s exactly where you should be!
Lemmy Schedule - a tool for scheduling posts for Lemmy (schedule.lemmings.world)
I’ve made an open source tool for scheduling posts to Lemmy, you can find it at schedule.lemmings.world. It can be used by users from any instance!...
Is everything working OK on this instance? (communick.news)
The image is from my Subscribed feed for this instance and another one (same subs on both)....

How many Lemmy users are non-technical background?
