A very creative way to cast on for #knitting. I'm definitely giving this one a try.
It's also interesting to see, how she does purl and (I think) knit through back loop. It's always cool to see how many different ways there are to get to the same result. I watched the video on mute, but from the comments it seems she's from Turkey?
Loving how my Kouserb hat is working up in my favourite colors! I bought this yarn combo from a handspinner and am enjoying every stitch
Kouserb Hat is a pattern from @WoollyWormhead I'm knitting it as part of the @fastenoffyal Woolly is a returning particpating designer and I love that!
It's time for another random giveaway for the Fasten Off Yarnalong. Please tell us which pattern by a particpating designer you purchased and/or are making for the FOYAL. Provide a link to the pattern if you can
This giveaway will be open for about 24 hours so all timezones have a fair chance to play. We'll randomly draw a winner for a pattern prize by one of our particpating designers.
I bought the Sycamore vest by Norichan Knits, this is the crochet version of the Linden vest. I'm excited to see if I can use a summery yarn for it to wear it as a top
I've worked one of her patterns a few months back and I can very highly recommend them - they are designed with a great love for details and the sweater I made came out absolutely gorgeous.
@FanCityKnits@knitting@fiberarts ok, well... My recent lightbulb moment was realising that while I theoretically knit German style continental, I actually flick of sorts rather than strictly pick up. Which means I can use a knitting belt and that's been fun to experiment with.
@FanCityKnits@knitting@fiberarts A very simple trick for knitting on circulars with a screwed on cable: take a left hand needle one size down. Makes the stitches slide more easily.
When people were asking about fun Advent projects I completely spaced out on Imagined Landscapes yearly gnome adventure! If you’re still looking for a fun Advent thing check out the mystery gnome event Snow Matter What. She says it’s easy to catch up because the clues are small and spaced out (she has other good stuff between clues) https://www.imaginedlandscapes.com/snow-matter-what/
Treated myself for the first day of December. Although honestly i suppose I treat myself when I feel like it. I happened to realize a favorite indie dyer had just restocked her store and I could not resist. I now have more Little Lionhead Knits yarn when i have not yet used my previous sock sets. I bought one more thing but that might end up a gift so not sharing. #knitting#FiberArts@knitting@fiberarts (remove groups to reply)
My first two #FastenOffYAL projects are a fact. I'm crocheting the Chroma Story Scarf by Connie Lee Lynch and knitting the Wrapezoid by Shanalines Designs. I don't think it's hard to guess my favourite colour.
It warms my heart seeing all the lovely things people are making with @crochet and @knitting and @fiberarts -- does anyone know of other crafting groups which exist on Mastodon?
You can follow hashtags to find them, just search for your favorite craft to find them, and also there are some groups you can follow (groups on mastodon is a bit different though, see: https://fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on-the-fediverse/ for information about how they work).
Depending on what crafts you do there's for instance a @crochet group, a @knitting group, a general @fiberarts group to mention a few.
