xuxebiko, Food inflation is off the charts in India. But there are no protests because religion is the opiate of the masses.
ALERT, “world news”
stopthatgirl7, When you only read the headline and not the article:
The cost of tomatoes in India has soared by more than 400% in recent months due to crop failures following scorching heat waves and heavy rains, according to farmers and agriculture experts, though prices have moderated somewhat in August.
That is why it’s world news. Because it’s indicative of a much bigger issue. I’d say massive crop failures are world news. Which is why I posted it.
ALERT, fair enough
bandario, Just before I flew out of India after many months of travel I decided to try a whopper, just to see if it was any different than usual.
Let me tell you folks, hands down the best whopper I’ve ever had.
The biggest reason for that was that the tomatoes were actually ripe, and fresh compared to the miserable garbage HJs / BK use at home.
To me a burger without tomato is not a burger at all.
shrodes, Beef? I went to Maccas over there and don’t think I saw any beef on the menu. Though there was a lot of quite interesting and nice menu items you wouldn’t find elsewhere as a result
Had a Chicken Maharaja Mac 😁 https://i.imgur.com/LcsxUlD.jpg
bandario, I’m pretty sure it was Mutton!
tallwookie, cost of living is so drastically different over there. I think nothing of it if I need to spend $3 (250 rupees) for some tomatoes.
