max, in I used to be a collage artist before I started painting with watercolor. These elements were painted separately and then collaged together, as an experiment

@eugenia this is so awesome !!

Thx!! :)

ElderWendigo, in A small wedding present I made - matching bookmarks!

These look beautiful. They are so thoughtful and obviously you put seriously thought, care, and effort into them. My spouse and I would have loved to receive them as gifts. Our favorite part would be the secret impressionist nipple that is revealed when you put them together. We love boobs.

mhmmm,

Now I see it, too! Not my intention, but I’m also not mad at it - boobs are indeed very lovable. Thank you for that wonderful association!

caseyweederman, in "Those Who Do Not Pass" by Scott Campbell (GREAT SHOWDOWNS) [Not OC]

Scott Campbell, artist at Double Fine. If you’re thinking his art looks like Psychonauts, it is indeed that Psychonauts looks like his art, because it is.
It’s good to see that his personal posts are just filled with him drawing whatever he feels like, because that always leads to some incredible art.

Crul,

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of all his other works. I only knew this one blog.

I edited the titles with his name and added a link to his linktree.

thedarkfly, in We're moving back to my native Greece after 25+ years abroad, and so I decided to paint our current process

Very nice! What made you leave and what made you go back?

eugenia,
@eugenia@lemmy.ml avatar

Thx! I left to find a job, originally in UK, in 1996. I was a programmer originally. Then I met my (French-in-the-US) husband on IRC, got married, and also moved to the US. Been there since 2001. Here I became a tech journalist, and then an artist (mostly collage art, where I had a very successful career in the 2010s – paintings/illustration are new to me).

The reason to come back I detailed in another reply here.

thedarkfly,

Thanks for sharing your story! And sorry about your dad, being away from family is the main reason why I’d like to stay close by. It’s bittersweet but I’m happy you’re getting closer to your mom 😊 I hope your husband still has family in France, he will be closer as well

eugenia,
@eugenia@lemmy.ml avatar

He does, yes! We should be in France 1-2 times a year for sure!

Ευχαριστώ!

marty_relaxes, in Missing my home in Greece

What a nice painting, and what a sad sentiment!

I especially love the color contrast of land and water, I think it captures quaint Mediterranean dreaminess so well.

Thank you!

DontNoodles, in Ho Chi Minh - Motorcycle Petrol Station

Very evocative! Loved it.

I caught this boat the other day. Had to paint it. Such a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

makingStuffForFun, in Happy Ween by Kelly Bastow (MOOSEKLEENEX) [Not OC]
@makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml avatar

That’s quite masterful. How many layers do you think that took, if you mind me asking? Impressive

Crul,

I don’t know… I haven’t used watercolors ever :/.
(And, just in case, this is Not OC, as indicated in the tittle)

If you have a Tumblr accout, you could try asking using the Ask Tumblr feature: moosekleenex.tumblr.com/ask

Old_Jimmy_Twodicks, in Happy Ween by Kelly Bastow (MOOSEKLEENEX) [Not OC]

If you put together a kids book, would you let me know, please? I have a number of neighbor kiddos that’d love this style! 🤗🌈

Thank you, I will! :) :)

Zombiepirate, in Killing Time while it's Rebooting
@Zombiepirate@lemmy.world avatar

Delightful!

porkins, in Killing Time while it's Rebooting

That’s cool, but to totally poke lighthearted fun, they shouldn’t need a suit inside the spaceship and if the planets were all that close together, they would collide into some kind of superstructure.

eugenia, (edited )
@eugenia@lemmy.ml avatar

I do whimsical children’s illustrations, ιt’s a specific style shared among many (mostly women) illustrators. ;-)

Oszilloraptor,

Totally agree with the second point.

The first point, in context of the title, could be explained by default security procedure on rebooting of the spaceship. You don’t know of some error could lead to some airlock malfunction. Also we don’t know what caused the reboot in the first place. Maybe she fixed something and now is waiting for the ship to boot up and restore life support.

bobby_hill, in The letter sender

I love your style!
