#OnThisDay in #history - The She-Majesty Generalissima of the English Cavaliers, Henriette Marie, died at the age of 59. She had been married to Charles I, king of #England when she was 15 years old. Henriette Marie was a loyal wife and queen, fundraising on the Continent during the English Civil Wars. Profoundly determined, she survived being shot at and escaped sharing in her husband's execution by protecting their children and taking them to France.
