#OnThisDay in #history - Elizabeth I was born in 1533. The only surviving child of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, Elizabeth was generally not raised as an heir to the throne - her little brother was born in 1537, and she had an older sister, Mary. The unlikely queen came to the throne in 1558. Elizabeth had the longest reign (44.5 years) of the Tudors, and one of the longest in English history.
