Is it weird that I feel completely comfortable with ?
I noticed that most of the folks I run into are ill at ease when they interact with their repo.

The resources available tend to either

  • explain how (all of) git works.
    Or
  • provide a few stanzas of incantations to accompany the ritual sacrifice.

I wonder if there's an audience for a "git therapist"?

"Do you think your struggles with merge conflicts may be rooted in early experience with svn ?...."

@blaise I feel like people who like git have never used a good version control system and so don't realize how bad it is. i used mercurial for years and I still hate git. Unfortunately hg never took off (we don't have hghub for example) .

The way most people use git makes me think they want svn with better merging and a couple other warts fixed. I never used svn though so I'm not sure what those might be. (that includes how I use git)

@blaise I'm no longer a techie, and I hate when the answer is "check this out on git". Eww.

What I want is a git exorcist, please.
