@dougiec3@pluralistic Peg lowest paid workers' wages to a fraction of the highest paid executive's total compensation. Maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of 1:20, although even that seems kind of absurd. But way better than the 1:200+ zone we're in right now.
"Slim majority" is a legit bullshit framing. 53% support and 22% opposition is a "slim majority" in a technical sense, but it would be just as true to say that only a tiny minority of capitalism-poisoned freaks oppose the #uaw
I've seen kitten-tormented yarn-balls that were more straightforward than this. Translation: Most Americans agree that when the boss gets a raise, the workers should get the same raise.
@pluralistic The fact that their work is different is already the reason for the vast difference in base salary. If the company is successful, it's because of everyone involved, not just the CEO. Raising everyone's salary is only fair!
