@jan I only recently got a full frame, so I am still exploring how best to use it. From what I can tell, medium format is still hyper niche and breathtakingly expensive
@jerry I'm probably not going back to digital any time soon but if I were I'd have to think nice and long about a Fuji GFX since I shoot almost entirely medium format film
@g@jerry If we're being serious, full-frame mirrorless is probably the best option right now for a "pro" camera to haul around. Great bokeh, low noise, great dynamic range, and plenty of good pixels for cropping; but lightweight and compact enough to take on casual hikes, etc.
Every photographer goes through this period of thinking that their technique would improve if only they had more gear to haul around, and it just inevitably gets you to a place where your setup is too heavy to take anywhere and collects dust at home.
@g@lcamtuf I will say that I’m really impressed with my 14 pro max cameras. I am not sure if the periscope lens rumors are true for the 15 pro max, but that would be pretty awesome.
@farewell_ladmin@jerry Film is so much cheaper until you get to the good stuff. I’d recommend trying it, but I think Jerry is enamoured with the beautiful high end shots, as is everyone really.
