The General Data Protection Regulation has given people control over their personal .

Now, we now want to ensure it is effectively enforced in cross-border cases.

Today, we proposed new rules to bring quicker remedies to individuals and more legal certainty for businesses.

Our proposal will also streamline cooperation between national data protection authorities, supporting more vigorous enforcement.

@EU_Commission - How does this help to protect EU citizens from non-EU companies? It doesn't. This is currently the biggest threat. You have to enforce , and you already all legal instruments to do this. Use them!

@EU_Commission I wonder how the new project by Zuckerberg squares with any of this? As far as I can see, as a naive consumer, it absolutely does not. Keep away from Mastodon and the Fediverse, please.
