TiL: Paul Stamets (of Discovery) is a real life mycologist here on earth!
This is probably old news to other people but I only just noticed this. Seems like a pretty interesting guy!
Transcendant, Blew my mind a little bit when I discovered this fact. Really nice little touch from the writers. The IRL Stamets is an incredibly interesting guy.

There is also an episode of Hannibal where a killer is burying people alive and growing mushrooms out of them. They consult a doctor called Stamets in that episode. It seems to be a running gag to name any mushroom related person in a show after the real life mushroom dude.
