This is def from some where further north, but it reminds me of some vernal pools that would form on some high elevation plateaus in eastern San Diego county, US. Very desert, except for a brief period in spring when it became something, very clearly different. When it did, there was this sense that the entire area had this ‘other’ version of itself, maybe a relic from a previous, wetter climate. Frogs, salamanders, far more green and more life. It would then dry up and blow away. Everything going dormant for the rest of the season.
