Can a community have 0 mods?

I dont know if this is bugged or there are actually no mods but !writingprompts shows 0 mods.

So I was wondering, can it have 0 mods? If so, what happens now does it get deleted in any way or given to someone in the meantime to moderate? Or are these instances mostly left alone to rot?

Each community is hosted on some instance, and the instance’s operator still has the ability to do moderator actions there.
