Why there is always someone to

Create an discord communities although we are on an community.

Let me explain , I’m on an “/c/A”, which is new. Which desire to grow up. And suddenly you have a thing, strange thing, coming and posting an discord link about the " /c/A". Like wtf, what u will post on this discord can be post on the root’s /c/ and be discussed about there. The creation of this discord is to help the community to grow they say. In which way ? That can help if u post the link on other communities whoses are blocking specifically lemmy’s link. In other case I don’t see.

To mention, we have MP too on Lemmy. Lemmy is open . Lemmy don’t use you as a product by default. Why this need to have an discord community. Its just ego of the creator or something else ?

Sometimes, u can even see on an discord, an sub discord created with just a little variable changed.

NightOwl,

Direct live chat with members of the community who wish for that experience is why discord is often made. Sometimes becomes a fall back channel if a community gets nuked or restricted for whatever reason like a blackout or whatever. As for why discord and not matrix or revolt? Accessibility, but matrix and revolt would be nice to start being pushed too.

They want to be a mod and be important. All the gamer buddies have a discourd channel, so it's cool to have one. I know, I've been that way.
