The only thing I can find is the equal age of consent for same-sex relations vs hetero relations: 1988 in DDR and 1994 in Germany post unification. Seems like a stretch to conclude that communist states were more LGBTQ-friendly based on this 6 year difference. Look into which countries allow same-sex marriage. The only communist country that allows it now is Cuba. They legalized it almost one year ago! That being said, communism vs capitalism is an economic discussion. It doesn’t necessarily say anything about social issues.
