Using the web client in Firefox, I cannot seem to expand comments below a certain level. Clicking “3 more comments ->” just spins. Any ideas?

I’m wondering: where does Lemmy UI get the timezone for the time stamp on posts?...

I made an account on here before this instance defederated from lemmysnfw. I asked the admin there to remove my account from the lemmynsfw database. Each time he does so, loading my user page again recreates my user on the database....

On Reddit, one frequently runs into posts that are archived, and thus the user cannot interract with them anymore – motive is stated here. I’m curious if Lemmy would ever do the same.

I know that I can DM the user from a comment or a post....

When going through the post feed, I’ll randomly get 5-10 new posts added to the top of the feed. These 5-10 posts are all new with 1 or 2 upvotes only. Sometimes all from the same community....

I can see that I can follow Lemmy communities from Mastodon (just tried it out with a handful of communities), but I don’t see a way to have it work the other way....

Whenever I reload lemmy I can see in the statusbar that it loads many megabytes of data. For mostly text. Why is that?

In some posts, I see some comments are highlighted in yellow for no obvious reason that I can figure out. Example post here...

I am quite annoyed by one person’s posts in one community I’m subscribed to. I could block them but then I might miss their comments or posts in other communities which might not be as annoying....

There are two dead lemmy.ml communities I would like to request. What would be the process in gaining control of the communities? I do have a lemmy.ml account that I occassionally log into if that helps.

I’m running Lemmy through Docker. Because I have problems with the performance of my Lemmy instance I wanted to tune my PostgreSQL container to better utilise my RAM. Foolishly I skipped that step when I initially set everything up....

I deleted my instance and want to use my domain for something else. However, traffic keeps getting pushed to my server. Is there a way to stop this?

Hey! So I posted today with my main account, @Stamets, to !memes but after an hour it showed no signs of activity. No upvotes, no downvotes, no nothing. So I checked the modlog just in case and there seemed to be no sign that anything was removed or that I was banned. So I made a post to this community on that same account...

What are the dimensions and size limits of profile avatar and banner?...

Say you have a Community on Instance A, a User-B from Instance B posts to that community, a User-C on Instance C comments on that post, and User D on Instance D is viewing that post, and its comments from Instance D. How should user D go about sharing a comment from that post? Should User D share the comment from Instance D,...

Filled out the reg. form, filled out the CAPTCHA, and hit the “sign up” button which then turns into a spinner. The spinner never stops. Confirmation email never arrives....
