i know this is already asked before, hope someone link me up. i am just a novice ubuntu user and i am getting familiar with terminal, but i am struggling with setting up this yml file and all… no fancy stuff: i just want to self host so i could avoid api rate limit error and browse limitlessly. i have a spare laptop on top of...
I’m considering migrating away from Lemmy.world on account of downtime and the recent blocking of piracy communities. However, I am quite fond of Lemmy.world’s other choices in defederation, e.g. nazi nonsense and CSAM....
I know that Thunder can filter the posts but only limited. It only hides the currently loaded ones and only on button press. You need to do it over and over. Is there an app that does it automatically?
Apart from Cloudflare being an access restricted walled garden that harms interoperability, I really do not want my content on CF & I do not want CF content reaching me. This bug is one of many issues likely caused by Cloudflare:...
I banned a subscriber from one of my communities today for repeatedly breaking the rules. I also blocked them because I find them aggressive and argumentative and I’m not here for that personally. But what happens when their ban from the community ends and they decide to post in the community again? Will I still see their...
I have currently selected no languages in my lemmy account. Does that mean I will shown content of all languages or will it automatically default to some language and only show me that¿?

However, using this backlog: lemmy.ml/modlog?page=1&userId=2461030 , lemmy.ml/post/3809854 It says that the post couldn’t be...
It’s strange and unintuitive that my own submitted posts are hidden with this basic feature. Given the slow pace on some communities as Lemmy grows, it gets really repetitive without the ability to filter out read posts. On the other side though, the ability to review my posts and check back on them seems pretty basic as a...
How does Lemmy deal with deletion requests for banned accounts? There does not appear to be any built in functionality to make this possible which makes compliance with the law more difficult.
I am signed in as an admin user of my instance. A different, non-admin user has created a community on my instance. I can’t edit this community’s details. If I create a post in this community, I can’t use the … menu to assign myself moderator of this community....
On my lemmy.ml instance, most of the comments on my posts get hidden. I can see them from my notifications but not the actual posts. However I can perfectly see all of them on other instances like lemmy.world. Is this normal?
I just set up my instance and noticed that posts on my Instance dont have the same upvote and comment counts? What couses this and how can I solve it?...
