What do you think? I’ve had mixed experiences with fine nibs (sometimes they feel very scratchy, but in other brands, with different inks and paper, they still feel too wet), so I’ve been nervous about trying EF. There’s obviously still much to learn and experiment with.
@richard3030@xoagray I prefer fine nibs because of my rather smallish handwriting. But I know that scratchy thing you’re talking about. I got brave one day and starting using sanding pads on any “off” feeling nibs. I was able to get them to be smooth without a lot of sanding, and now they’re my favorite pens to write with.
Was there any value to the “post in the thread before purchase to help reduce scammers?“
You were supposed to post in the thread in order to prove that you weren't banned from the subreddit. I know the ban list got fairly long over on watchexchange, so I assume it was preventing at least some scams. I think the same thing would work here. But IMO the most trustworthy buying and selling subs were the ones that had some kind of "verified purchases" bot, where the buyer and seller would tell the bot about the transaction and then it would add to your transaction count. That would be a great thing to have.
Pen_Swap is probably the only thing that could occasionally pull me back to Reddit. I think I’ve bought 1 $30 pen in my collection from Amazon. The rest were from the community. I’ve got several I need to release back into the wild from my collection, I’m having difficulty which ones to select. What I want keeps changing, but a smooth buttery nib is amazing no matter what.
We should be the change we want to see in the world, but first, I must caffeinate….
Another vote for Midori and Rhodia. I’m looking for the spiral version of the Midori, in the meantime my daily driver is a sidebound Rhodia spiral. It just works, any ink, any pen.
Looks lovely! I enjoyed looking at the writing sample. Your ink really helps show off the line variation. I like how the loops in your b, h, and l letters look!
