“The path loops around massive mushroom growths. Strange creatures may lurk nearby, but this clearing is peaceful enough for now.”
“A quiet night for a stroll in the forest. The shadows hide the unknown, but the path and rickety bridge are lit well enough.”
“These boulders seem like a pleasant enough place to rest for a moment and gather your bearings. The fragrant smell of the blossoming trees bring a smile to your face.”
“The trail ahead passes through a gentle creek. It is shallow and you can easily step over it. The sound of its babbling is a pleasant distraction from your quest at hand.”
“Towers of stone loom over you, providing cover but also vantage points for an ambush. Keep your wits about you.”
Your party finds this ancient tree standing proudly among the rocky terrain. It has seen many dry seasons come and go and weathers them with grace.
Following the path through the jungle you find four underground springs emptying into sinkholes. Your party can’t help but admire the nature beauty here.
Two roads cross in an open field, edged by a treeline. This was once a farm plot, but it’s been fallow for some time and trees have begun to spring up. Which way will your party go?
Deep in the dense woods, you find a small clearing leading to the ruins of a temple. It’s dark inside, but nothing a few torches can’t solve.
Stumbling your way through the jungle, your party has to travel through a natural gap surrounded by vines. Who has the high ground?
Your party was warned not to enter the bog, but here you are. The smell of earth and rot is pungent, almost inviting you to become part of it.
Your party stumbles upon an ancient courtyard, overgrown and crumbling. A haunting statue remains standing. What treasures are beyond?
A big wooded area for various encounters. My heroes rescued little magical leemurs from some Gnoll poachers in this forest. I drew it as 40x40, but I ran it as 80x80 and I think it looked decent. Enjoy, my fellow GMs.
In the style of 2e dungeon poster map. a subterranean river has eroded away an entrance into a forgotten dungeon....
Trolls have taken up residence in the caves surrounding this forgotten temple. Only when adventurers come to investigate the blocked river will they have a chance of finding something more.
Made this for [Weekly Community Prompt] #3: The Sunken City over at mapmaking.
This single route to the center maze protects against spells such as passwall with walls filled with pressurized lava that damage cheaters and seal the wall behind it.
Tremendous in size, this burning tree hides two access points along its east side to hollowed out caves and veins of lava within.
Above the line: main map. Cave access is hidden on the left side of the map within the cliff face....
This long-dry-river-now-road hides a shadowy cave in its crook. Conceal the cave with either fog of war or additional foliage assets.

Hand drawn on Procreate, 30x30. Ran my players through this adventure to introduce them to an aloof and rather rude deity.
