Google Maps crashes when in background
So I’m seeing the on two Samsung phones.
Start routing on Google Maps. Mimize. Don’t use the picture-in-picture mode.
You will now see a notification that Maps is guiding you. After about one minute it crashes with error “no GPS signal”. “Crash” here means that the notification icon becomes (!).
Why? This happens with or without an actual GPS signal and Maps has access to location at all times. In foreground, Maps works just fine.
