Winn: You live without a soul, Commander. You and your Federation exist in a universe of darkness, and you would drag us in there with you. But we will not go!
In addition to memorable performances by Kira/Visitor and Marritza/Yulin, I think this episode was also a turning point for Kira's views about Cardassians.
Before this episode, she saw them all as "the enemy". After this episode, she saw them as more nuanced, with some of them honorable.

Tonight’s DS9 is an excellent episode but it’s no lighthearted silly Ferengi episode.

DS9 (10ET): Duet
VOY (11ET): Day of Honor
ENT (midnight): The Xindi

Is it devolve or de-evolve? 🧐
TOS (8ET): The Conscience of the King
TNG (9ET): Genesis
DS9 (10ET): Dramatis Personae
VOY (11ET): The Gift
ENT (midnight): The Expanse
Thanks, Ayako. Tim Russ and William Shatner were the other two Trek main cast members who directed 1 Trek episode or movie. Russ directed VOY's "Living Witness" and Shatner directed "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier". (from MA)
Between Majel Roddenberry's appearance as Lwaxana Troi and the relatively major role the DS9 computer had in this story, she pulled double duty for this episode.
@spatula_tattoo@petertrek1@allstartrek That is correct, I don't think she ever talked to herself on DS9, only on TNG. Interestingly, she was overly polite to the Enterprise computer but the opposite when talking to the station's computer.
Thanks for the correction. I did a little more checking online and I stand corrected. The DS9 computer voice was provided by Judi Durant. As you mentioned, Majel Roddenberry voiced the Starfleet ship computers. Thanks.
