one of the things that makes this episode incredibly memorable is that at the end even though Marritza showed he was a good guy - he still got killed.

In addition to memorable performances by Kira/Visitor and Marritza/Yulin, I think this episode was also a turning point for Kira's views about Cardassians.

Before this episode, she saw them all as "the enemy". After this episode, she saw them as more nuanced, with some of them honorable.

A year and a half ago, I was a guest on the TrekRanks podcast discussing "Top 5 One-Off Guest Stars".

My #1 pick was Harris Yulin from "Duet". Highlights of his performance were his conversations with Kira/Nana Visitor. There were riveting to watch.

This is an excellent DS9 episode and is one of the best hours in the franchise. Excellent performances by Nana Visitor and guest star Harris Yulin as Aamin Marritza.
