Do my #ActuallyAutistic comrades have a carb addiction?

If so, you’re not alone.

Do you find that carbs regulate you? Or dysregulate?

The inflammation that comes with them is a lot to manage. But like others have mentioned, too few leaves me in a brain fog. It has taken me decades, literally, to find a balance that works for me.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic I'm at my absolute best when in ketosis.

Used to be highly addicted to sugar and ate all day long, mostly carbs. Until my migraine got too bad and I was desperate.

Keto was my game changer. Today, I'm less strict, but still low carb. No sugar. No gluten. Whenever I cheat, I see immediately why it's bad for me.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic carbs make me feel awful so I need to avoid them but without carbs my brain doesn’t work, which makes me feel awful, so I need also need them.

I legit need to walk a tightrope of carbs-exercise-work-rest-sleep to feel alright and be functional at the same time.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic carbs for me are soothing in the short term but a lot at once messes me up after ½ hour or so

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic I need to generally avoid them where possible outside of daily need, the highs/lows mess me up both mentally and physically
