As much as I hate how much money I spend eating out on a regular basis, I can't deny that it really does help prevent meltdowns...

Everything went wrong with our grocery trip this evening, from overstimulation to the car not starting again. Meltdowns. And then to have to come home and have to cook after that... 😩

I'm starving but my nervous system is so out of whack that this food probably won't even feel satisfying.

@spika Going to the store over the past year has been a toss-up when it comes to overstimulation, be it from smells from the cleaning/laundry/meat section, to sounds of people banging or chucking stuff into their carts, or people simply not respecting personal space.

Noise cancelling headphones or ear buds can only do so much re: noise, even in ambient or transparent mode.

@qlp @spika @actuallyautistic I agree, I like having my groceries delivered, it works better for me personally.

@qlp For me, it's the visual overstimulation and feeling like I'm having to actively resist buying everything in the store that puts me past my tipping point.
