I fell out with my sister years ago because she took me aside and said "I know you didn't mean this and wouldn't say this, but this social media post might have been interpreted in this bad faith way" and I'm like, it doesn't actually say that, you know I wouldn't mean that - how can I control for that sort of interpretation? That is not a reasonable ask! But she maintained I should somehow /just know/.
