@actuallyautistic @theautisticcoach You can’t have either without the other, I reckon. Recognising that our being autistic can be a struggle liberates us to embrace our autistic identity with pride, rather than seeing ourselves as “broken neurotypicals”. Conversely, taking pride in our identity can reveal to us the ways in which we experience difficulties at the hands of a society built by and for neurotypicals
