Are you ticklish? If not, did you used to be ticklish?

As a child, I was ticklish until, at age 11, I decided that I would no longer be ticklish. Since then, I have not been ticklish at all.

I have yet to meet any others who experienced this "turning off" of being ticklish.

bike,

@Gtmlosangeles @actuallyautistic I did that, too. Had forgotten all about it

@Gtmlosangeles @actuallyautistic I would have loved to have been able to do this when my older brother was tickling me

@Gtmlosangeles @actuallyautistic yes! I definitely did this.

homelessjun,

@Gtmlosangeles @actuallyautistic i can turn it off or on. it works with other things as well, except the sensory stuff, which can at most only be ignored for a while.

@Gtmlosangeles @actuallyautistic I’m still ticklish. I would love to be a little less but I can’t and it’s ok.

Ticklish is a state of mind, for me. In the right setting, with the right person, I'm very ticklish. When I'm feeling guarded (most of the time) I'm not ticklish.
