VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - Update: A judge sentenced WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Tammy "Sunny" Sytch to 17 years in prison connected to a deadly DUI crash in Daytona Beach that killed a 75-year-old man. Tammy Sytch was sentenced to 10 years for driving with a suspended license and causing injury or death and 7 years for DUI manslaughter, which were ordered to be served consecutively, or one after the other. She was also sentenced to eight years probation after serving 17 years, including 50 hours community service, a $10,000 fine, and the permanent revocation of her license.

The sentencing was delivered shortly after 3 p.m. Sytch did not have any visible reaction to the sentencing. She appeared to speak briefly with her legal representatives.

Original story

WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Tammy "Sunny" Sytch appeared in court Monday to be sentenced after she pleaded no contest in a 2022 deadly DUI crash that killed a man in Volusia County.

Sytch is accused of being behind the wheel when she crashed into 75-year-old Julian Lassiter on March 25, 2022 in US-1, killing him. She was arrested at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach a week later.

Police said her blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit when the crash happened. Former WWE legend arrested in deadly DUI wreck

Ormond Beach Police arrested WWE Hall of Famer, Tammy "Sunny" Sytch, on Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach for her involvement in a deadly traffic crash in March.

In 2022, a judge revoked her bond after prosecutors filed a motion citing previous DUI convictions from states outside of Florida and said she's a threat to the community.

In its court motion, the state alleged Sytch had previously been convicted of a crime, including two DUI charges in 2015 in Pennsylvania, and years later violated probation. The state also alleged that Sytch's license was suspended.

Sytch has been held in the Volusia County jail without bond ever since. She later pleaded no contest – meaning she is not contesting the criminal charges she is facing – court records show. Tammy Sytch at sentencing: ‘It haunts me daily' WWE star Tammy Sytch speaks before sentencing

Former WWE star and Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch spoke Monday at her sentencing in a deadly DUI crash that killed a man in Volusia County. Sytch pleaded no contest to the charges. She told the judge that she was sorry, that the reality that a man died "haunts her daily," and asked that she be allowed to atone for her actions, while also helping teach the youth about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Lassiter's family sued Sytch for at least $30,000 to cover medical and funeral expenses, as well as an emotional loss.

Addiction is a son of a bitch, and it's a damn shame it came to this.

Indeed, but at the least no one else will be harmed by her (..for 17 years cause I ain't gonna count that chicken..)

At the end of the day she was responsible for seeking help as we don't really have a non-compulsory rehabilitation system setup in this country that doesn't require the addict to break some law first. Also she is responsible for herself at the end of the day.

I hope she gets herself clean even if it won't fix the harm she did to that family.
