verity_kindle, We don’t get enough of this type of art, I’ve tried carving relief designs in clay and in slate and it’s freakin difficult. How did people train their eyes for 4-D,to be able to create a scene like that? My depth perception is not accurate enough, everything I carved looked like lumpy jellyfish
PugJesus, It really puts into perspective (ha) just how much work goes into art, especially pre-modern art. There's such a limited margin for error, and still they made such beautiful works, often with inferior tools.
