I haven't created a Lemmy account, and I probably won't. I chose Kbin primarily because it's written in PHP which gives me the best opportunity to contribute, since I know the language. Haven't done much of that yet, but I am watching development and it's very active. Lots of community involvement and people trying to help. Ernest is overwhelmed but steadily working on scaling up the entire operation (infrastructure, organization, processes, etc.) with help from some great people.
Prefer Kbin, I feel the interface is cleaner and more true to the Fediverse. My complaints are A) It's really hard to just look at a list of your magazines and B) why is the reply box at the bottom of the page?
Lemmy. Idk, I tried it first, enjoyed it. I made a kbin account to test it out too and found a few features I preferred less there. I also remember the name lemmy easier than kbin.
It's probably related to the issue of how upvotes, downvotes and favourites are treated in kbin, lemmy and mastodon (and other fediverse apps). See https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/3
Ive liked several cities in Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice) and they all kind of have their own vibes. Also very accommodating to tourists the three times Ive been.
when you sue someone, its in civil court. its not about legality. the company is in the US. the family memebers will take them down and they no longer ha e their ceo.
Courts aren't limited to prosecuting crimes that happen in their jurisdiction. For example, German courts are prosecuting sex crimes committed by tourists in Thailand. So just because there is no court nearby doesn't mean you can do whatever you want.
I really enjoy playing a video game on one monitor and watching/listening to something on the second monitor. Hollow Knight + Critical Role got me through some tough times, tbh.
Its not necessarily relaxing depending on the game, but I always feel better and more relaxed afterwards.
