An old rotary telephone.

ReCursing, in If you could place any object on the surface of Mars, purely to confuse NASA scientists, what would it be?
@ReCursing@kbin.social avatar

A sealed hab dome, containing a fish breeding tank that outputs a portion every so often into another tank, and a flock of penguins. There are also penguin shaped space suits mounted next to the air locks

Adama,

Ooh. A small broken octagonal habitat shape with the fossilized remains of dolphin bones and dolphin shaped mechanized suits. As well as some kind of buried damaged “launch pad” that could fit a decent sized ship.

Wait… that would be less confusing and more exciting as a earths history kind of thing.

Hawne, in If you could place any object on the surface of Mars, purely to confuse NASA scientists, what would it be?
@Hawne@kbin.social avatar

A "Kilroy was here" graffiti.

acedelgado, in What is Kbin’s identity?
@acedelgado@kbin.social avatar

Kbin seems to be pretty ambitious in that it's aiming at being a hub for (almost) all of the fediverse. So Lemmy's reddit-like forums, mastodon's quick posts a la Twitter, and peertube's youtube - style services - it's looking to bring all of those fediverse platforms so they're all accessible in one place rather than having to sign up for each. That way it's an easy place to go to for your decentralized social media content. So really it's just looking to make the fediverse more easily accessible and improve the user's experience.

It's a pretty big idea and it's pretty damn impressive what Ernest accomplished before this big fediverse boom. I'm excited to see where it goes.

ShellSurf, in If you could place any object on the surface of Mars, purely to confuse NASA scientists, what would it be?
@ShellSurf@kbin.social avatar

I'd put an empty spacesuit from the Apollo era.

Anarch157a,

Make it a Soviet space suit from the Apollo era. That would cause every politician in the US to shit bricks.

MxM111,
@MxM111@kbin.social avatar

Why stop at spacesuit? Put lunar landing module and American flag in configuration like they were on the moon. Suggesting that moon landing was indeed a fake, and they did everything on Mars.

@Flaky_Fish69@kbin.social avatar

for all the keyboard peeps.....

https://fluxkeyboard.com/

Gimmick or... do you think the hall effect keys might not be as bad as chicklets? I'm intrigued by the ability to clean it easily. (the keyboard frame itself pops off and can be rinsed.) Not sure I want a screen under it, though.

problem_chimp,

Mechanical keyboard peep here, and to me that's very gimmicky.
