quite vague, but :

The Armed Forces confirmed the fact of a successful attack on the command post of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the command post of the Black Sea Fleet of the aggressor country, the Strategic Communications Department of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces reported .

We will remind, on the morning of September 20, explosions were heard in the occupied Crimea, in the area of the hills in Sevastopol. According to the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind” , columns of smoke rose in Inkerman, where the main oil base of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation is located. Fuel for enemy ships was stored there.

LIGA.net SBU informant also told that the commanders of the occupiers’ fleet were in the attacked command post.

What does it mean to attack “a command post”? Were people killed? If not, then they just relocate to another building… Hardly a win in my eyes

Disrupting the command structure (not physical, just the way it is organized and implemented) means that while all the parts might still exist there will be tons of confusion and slowed communication that is needed to effectively use their military resources. Sure, if no one dies they can get it straightened out, but they likely lost weeks worth of work and it is also very likely that some people who feed or distribute information died or were injured and that will make recovery from the attack take even longer.

Plus there is the fact that being able to hit a command post is going to make people nervous about being in a command center, which has morale implications.

This was a success even if nobody died and Russia pretends that it was ineffective.

TranscendentalEmpire,

War materials… command post are sometimes the Intel hub of entire fronts. All the communication equipment and tech needed to sort and send encrypted data from the front to the logistical arm of the military. It’s all central to the over all strategic command of thousands of people.

It doesn’t matter if none of the operators were killed, if the equipment they were operating was destroyed you’ve effectively taken them out of the battle, at least until they can replace/repair it all.
