This is the first non-Revelation Space book by Alastair Reynolds that I have read, and I loved it! It started out very simple. As the story progressed, it increasingly became evident that something very weird was going on. There were subtle clues to pick up on and I found myself tearing through the book trying to put together...
Loved it. I've read lots of his books, and this one was so different from the other ones. When reading it, there were more and more details that bothered me & didn't add up, but I just thought "huh, he's sloppy with details, he usually is so good about those things." So it took me quite a while to really see that something major was going on & it was very rewarding.
Also Slow bullets. It's a shorter story (novella) and it's a pretty nice idea/setting although some of the characters' decisions were really frustrating.
