⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Stuart Turton has another winner on his hands! Turton did such a fantastic job of blending both mystery and sci-fi in this exciting new suspenseful mystery that will have you engrossed from beginning to end.

Like his others, it's a book I can't stop thinking about, and after you read it, you won't either.

You will have to wait a while for this book because it comes out in May 2024 but trust me, it's worth the wait!

Steven has created a haunting, dark academia that is a great page-turner. You have everything you need for this to be a wonderful read: paranormal events, suspenseful mystery and a lovely LGBTQ romance.

Once again, The Fairway Players are at it again in this holiday mystery where a dead Santa Clause threatens to ruin their Christmas Pantomime (holiday play). This was just as enjoyable as "The Appeal". Not only is it full of suspense, but it is also filled with wit and humor. The reader is once again drawn into investigating a mystery but with a holiday spin. It is a quick read, and I think patrons of the list would like to read a sharp, somewhat cozy mystery.

I never read a book like this before. After hearing about all the buzz and great blurbs given for this book, I am so glad I picked it up. A crime thriller that is gritty and compelling but also with a sense of family and community, Mir has written a stunning debut that stands out from the rest of the crime thrillers out there. The characters here are full of realism and toughness that you may not sympathize with their actions but understand the meaning behind them.

For this week's , I am trying to get through some reading this week, especially a couple of mysteries I have to catch up on. I finally started "The Khan" by Saima Mir and I'm immensely enjoying it. I can't say the same with "I Have Some Questions For You" by Rebecca Makkai. I find this very slow, and the writing is not grabbing me. I feel like I'm a victim of with this title.

Alice Feeney, Queen of Twists, returns with another mind-bender of a mystery. Feeney has thought out with such planning and anticipation that it will have readers on the edge of their seats at every turned page. After readers devour this, they'll discover that this was one wild ride they embarked on! I'm still wrapping my head around this one. However, it was an exciting journey, and I was glad to be part of it.

"Gospel" by Will Morris ⭐⭐⭐⭐.75/5

This was a great graphic novel to read. It dives in on how we tell stories to one another and how it gets passed down from one person to the next. And tie it with the Protestant Reformation was a nice touch and made this historical story more thought-provoking and relatable. But not only was the story great to read, the artwork was wonderful to look at and made the story come to life.

It had some strong points, but I felt the execution was a bit off in this one. It felt drawn out and slow. I thought that it would be better as a movie than a novel. And although you can see who the culprit was a mile away, I found the technology aspect a bit confusing and daunting for a person who is either tech-savvy or not. I think anyone will be thrown off by these technology terms and not be interested in reading this.
