the typos, ridiculous story and so on is a filter. scammers want money; what’s good in engaging more people that won’t pay them? it’s better for them to type messages in a way that pre-selects for people who would pay anyway, because slinging emails to 100 people is the same amount of work no matter if 90 or 20 of them send money

tangentially could make sense considering that karab.in is one of larger instances. the word used in polish ui is “magazyn” which means magazine like storage space or newspaper, the weapons term is diminutive of the former

moved there from lemmy.world because of downtime and also unclear, sloppy defederation policies. i’ve never seen a clear explanation why it took a month to defederate exploding heads (allowing their userbase to grow 3x) and week for rammy site, but hexbear gets defederated “preemptively”. ???

also now i see beehaw content which is something i didn’t expected, but it’s cool

don’t get me wrong, i don’t want to be anywhere near exploding-heads, so in this case they were too slow to defederate, and in case of hexbear, well hexbear doesn’t seem to leak like that so it’s nonissue in the first place

tchncs.de has longer blocklist, and i guess it’s because of german law. not complaining tho

soviet union was preparing for war against NATO. as such, they have seen how important air assets were in vietnam war and especially later in desert storm, so they made sure they have loads of SAMs to negate this advantage. both Ukraine and russia draw from these stockpiles making air dominance impossible for either side, airspace is simply denied in all important sectors
